Director, Central Intelligence Agency (1993-1995)
Your professionalism and persistence make a great contribution to our understanding, to the public debate, and ultimately to our national security."
- R. James Woolsey, former director, Central Intelligence Agency

Jim Woolsey is Chairman of Woolsey Partners LLC and a Venture Partner with Lux Capital Management. He also Chairs the Board of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and is a member of the Advisory board of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran.
Mr. Woolsey currently chairs the Strategic Advisory Group of the Washington, D.C. private equity fund, Paladin Capital Group, chairs the Advisory Board of the Opportunities Development Group, and he is Of Counsel to the Washington, D.C. office of the Boston-based law firm, Goodwin Procter. In the above capacities he specializes in a range of alternative energy and security issues.
While serving as CIA Director under President Clinton, Woolsey sought repeatedly to get Clinton’s attention to pressing national security matters but was systematically rebuffed by the White House. At one point, when a small plane crashed into the south lawn, the joke going around the White House was that it was Woolsey trying to get an appointment with the president.
I have been pleased to work with Jim on the Advisory board of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran and to have his endorsement. If elected to Congress, I look forward to working with Jim on a variety of national security and intelligence issues, starting with facing up to the clear and present danger we face from a nuclear-armed Iran.
